Have a question that is not on this page? Contact us and we’ll be happy to answer your questions.

The Leash Team offers dog walking services to all areas in Edmonton and St Albert.

How does your dog walking service work? Do you pick up my dog?

Yes we pick up your dog, take them to one of Edmonton's fabulous off-leash dog parks and go for a walk approximately 1 hour. We will then return your dog to your home.

The Leash Team uses an online scheduling program which makes booking your dog walks easy and convenient. By logging into your account you will have access to a range of new services including: booking and cancelling dog walks, viewing your dog walking schedule, uploading your favourite pet photos, providing details such as emergency contacts, adding your pets care requirements and you can also view all your past invoices and payments.

Do I have to be a regular client to schedule a dog walk for my dog when I need one?

No, you don't have to be a regular dog walking client to book our dog walking services. No contracts and no commitments. You can book dog walks as often or as little as you need them. As well, you can book walks for your dogs as far in advance as you like. Booking your dog walks is super easy with our easy online scheduler.

All the we require for new our new dog walking clients is to have an initial FREE CONSULTATION so that we can meet you and your dog. Currently, we are doing these meetings over the phone or via Zoom to keep everyone safe during this time.

Do I have to be home when you come to pick up my dog and return him?

Not at all. We ask you to provide us with a key, door code or garage door code. Most of our clients work during day. Keys will not have your address on them, just the dogs name and they are kept in a locked box. Door codes are kept in a file on the dog walkers phone with just the dogs name on it (no address).

We pick up and drop off your dog as to your request: in their kennel, in their special room, in a mudroom, in the gargare, or in the backyard.

If it's wet outside, will you put a muddy dog back in the house?

We will do our best to clean him up (towel dry) before we return him.

How frequently are the dog walks? Do I have to fit into a regular Schedule?

We do daily walks and you can commit to as many or as few as you would like. Our scheduling software allows you to sign up for regularly scheduled days or you can request walks only when you need them. You do not have to commit to any number of days or walks. The system gives you complete flexibilty.

I am nervous about my dog being walked off-leash, will you use a leash?

Whether we walk your dog on or off leash is completely up to you. The only thing we will insist on if you want the dog walked on-leash is no choke collars. All dogs will wear a GPS tracking device on every walk.

Do you accept all dogs as clients?

All dogs are not best suited for group dog walks, we will do a 30 day evaluation of all new dogs to ensure that the group walks are best for them and that they will be good with the rest of the dogs already under our care. Some dogs are better suited to individual or on leash walks. Our number one concern is the health, happiness, and safety of all the dogs in our care...both new and existing clients.

Will you train my dog when he is with you for a group dog walk?

We will train your dog to walk with the pack and be well behaved with the other dogs. We will also teach a good recall so he will come to us when called. Any other training is best left to you (your trainer) and the dog one on one. We cannot do any training in a group walk. The Leash Team does offer private dog and private puppy training. Check out our amazing dog trainers and their credentials.

Why should I use The Leash Team for a dog boarding service?

Your pet will live in a secure environment and be taken on daily 1 hour walks. He or she will also have access to large fenced back yard with our two dogs for companionship. Your pet will not be exposed to illnesses of other animals. Most importantly, your pet will receive lots of love and personal attention while you are away. We have been certified in Pet Pet First Aid and CPR.

When we board dogs in our home we will only take two dogs at a time. We do have other experienced and trained dog lovers that will board dogs if we are already booked.

What information do I need to provide at the initial consultation?

Prior to our consultation, you will need to complete the New Client Information Form. Click here to access the Form. We will then have all the information we need about your pet(s) allowing us to spend the consultation time getting to know you and your pet(s).

Contact us to book your FREE CONSULTATION  and get started.  All your information on your client profile is confidential and will be set up with your complimentary consultation.

What happens in an emergency? Is there a form I need to fill out to authorize emergency care?

Yes, there is an Emergency Authorization Form on our contract. The contract must be completed before we provide any dog walking, dog training or dog boarding services. We will email the contract to you after the initial consultation.

Do you always take the dog for a walk at the time we ask for?

We start our morning walks between 9:45 -10:15 am and our afternoon walks between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. These times sometimes are affected by trafic conditions etc.. We do post a schedule online for our clients. We can't walk everyone at noon.

Do you pick up my dog’s waste when you are walking?

Yes, we do. We provide the bags.

How long are your dog walks?

Our dog walks are 1 hour, that does not include driving time, we do however have a protocol in place for winter weather.

Do you offer any sort of satisfaction guarantee?

You want to know that your dog will be cared for just the way you specify. We will guarantee it every time! If you are not 100% satisfied with the service that was provided, we will be happy to address your concerns. We believe in lasting client relationships, so our service is only complete when your dog returns home happy and you are completely satisfied.

I am leaving in two days and don’t have time to meet one of you. Will you take care of my dog without meeting them?

No, we do require an initial consultation before taking care of your dog.

Are you insured and bonded?

Yes. We carry liability insurance and all our dog walkers are bonded as well. If anything happens to your dog while under our care it is insured.

How is payment handled?

We will bill you at the end of each month and payments can be made by cheque, e-transfer or cash.

What is your cancellation policy for dog walks?

Cancelling a dog walk before 6pm the day before a walk will not be charged, after 6 pm there will be a $15 charge.

How Dogs Make us Better Humans

Tails of Unconditional Love

This book is a passion project brought to life during the deep dark days of Covid-19. The idea was inspired by the author’s work in leadership and her love of dogs. These two different worlds and two different passions are combined to create 16 very informal and whimsical stories about what dogs can teach us. The themes that come to light circle around unconditional love, self-leadership, and how to be better humans. The tales are heartwarming and real. The messages reveal how our canine friends help us grow in the big and small moments of our lives if we are present and willing to listen. It begs the questions, What is a dog's purpose? and Are we really present to the world around us?
