Dog Rescue Donations: Join Us In Our Support

Yearly dog rescue donations are a very important part of The Leash Team. Dan Meyer and his team of dog walkers at The Leash Team are proud to announce a $6,000 donation to Misfits of Alberta Animal Rescue. The cheque presentation was made at a local dog park Saturday afternoon.

The Leash Team raised funds through its recent Dog Adventure Days. 100% of the proceeds from the dog walking Adventure and donations from clients, family, and friends made this possible. The monthly events provide a unique experience for dogs to explore the local outdoors in and around Edmonton. Activities for each Dog Adventure Day include on-leash trail hikes, dog picnics, dog games, and a lot of love and socialization.

“This weekend’s experience with Misfits has been so incredible and meaningful to us. Even during a pandemic, people step up. That is the true spirit of Edmonton. We are so touched by the support we have decided to take a portion of every Dog Adventured Day and donate it back to Misfits.” said Dan Meyer, The Leash Team Founder. “They are an extraordinary organization that shares our values and love for animals by providing temporary and then forever loving homes and resources for animals in need.”

Misfits of Alberta is an all-animal rescue based out of Parkland County, AB, founded by three sisters on a mission to be the voice for the most vulnerable animals. “This donation is a game-changer for us,” said Brooke Roskey, Misfits Co-Founder. “We are 100% volunteer-run and rely on donations and amazing fundraisers such as this to continue saving lives. Thank you to The Leash Team!”

The Leash Team is hosting its next Dog Adventure Day on August 29th. Once again, a portion of the proceeds will support Misfits of Alberta Animal Rescue.

The Leash Team is an Edmonton-based, family-run dog walking and dog service business. We decided to grow and create jobs for people with the same passion for dogs during COVID-19. We are licensed, bonded, insured, and certified in behaviour modification and training methodology. Each dog walker on our team has Intensive Dog Walking Certification, and we are a member of Pet Sitters International and Certified by PetPro in Pet First Aid and CPR.

How Dogs Make us Better Humans

Tails of Unconditional Love

This book is a passion project brought to life during the deep dark days of Covid-19. The idea was inspired by the author’s work in leadership and her love of dogs. These two different worlds and two different passions are combined to create 16 very informal and whimsical stories about what dogs can teach us. The themes that come to light circle around unconditional love, self-leadership, and how to be better humans. The tales are heartwarming and real. The messages reveal how our canine friends help us grow in the big and small moments of our lives if we are present and willing to listen. It begs the questions, What is a dog's purpose? and Are we really present to the world around us?
